Sambia Gil has released his 5th album "5" in which he sings with his wife Anne Papiri well known voice for background vocals with Voulzy, Souchon, Geoffroy Oreyma... This guadeloupean musician was born in Paris and grew up in France in a family of guitarists. At 16 in 1986, he started to play and sing and in 1992 he decided to dedicate his life to music. Sambia Gil is playing in festivals, support band to kassav, plays in duet with Nancy Alloway. In 1996 he left for guadeloupe. Since then he is travelling around the islands. Sambia, Family, Eclipse, Fly away, 4 albums in creole, french english and spanish, from buiguine to ragga, he plays all styles. He has just released his 4th album "FLY AWAY" which is on sale in more than 200 stores in France (Virgin...). This talented musician is Gilles PETRUS known as Sambia jil. His music very like him, a metiss carrabean style music melting different styles. He enjoys playing and singing raggae, jazz and funk and even brazzilian music. His last album "FLY AWAY" released in 2003 was realized with 18 musicians from Toulouse (where he started to sing 15 years ago) from Paris and Gwadeloupe. He will present you this new album at the Calmos café today at 7:00pm.
